Els Rosildos is home to one of the most interesting snow houses in the Valencian Community.
Hiking and Rock Art
The Serra d’en Galceran area has four signposted and officially approved hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty and lengths. The Ruta del Gravats is a linear, easy-to-follow trail from Serra d’en Galceran to Els Rosildos and is approximately 6.5 kilometres long in one direction.
In the municipality of Serra d’en Galceran, you can visit the remains of the Iberian settlement of Els Castellars. Abric d’en Melià is also located there, a rock art site featuring rock engravings made using incision techniques. Access to Abric d’en Melià is difficult and is suitable only for well-prepared hikers with a strong interest in rock art.
Active Routes
Cyclists can ride up Port de la Bandereta next to Els Rosildos; the short climb is steep and offers panoramic views from the summit. The landscape around Els Rosildos makes climbing possible. One hike leads to Roca del Figueral, where there is a permanent zip line, a via ferrata and a Tibetan bridge.
On 16 June, the X Marxa BTT Els Rosildos was announced as a mountain biking event within the Circuit BTT Muntanyes de Castelló. One stage from Sierra Engarcerán to Sant Pau d’Albocàsser is 15.20 kilometres long. A third stage runs from Sierra Engarcerán to Sant Pau d’Albocàsser.
For planning purposes, the routes and activities mentioned can be compared by route format, length, gradient and type of activity. When compiling your own selection, you can distinguish between landscape-focused routes, rock art, cycling routes, climbing and the technical features at Roca del Figueral.
For planning your days, linear routes, short steep climbs and technical features differ considerably. The routes mentioned can therefore be considered separately according to their format and level of difficulty, while rock art, local festivals and cuisine provide additional cultural highlights. The announced BTT event also remains distinct from the other activities mentioned as an event marked by a specific date.
Festivals and Traditions
The festival in honour of Saint Christopher takes place in the last week of June. It combines religious and secular events with bull events, cultural activities, traditional dances and dance performances.
The Saint Anthony festival includes the traditional blessing of horses and other animals. Traditional “coquetes de Sant Antoni” are distributed during the festival.
Local Cuisine
Traditional dishes from Els Rosildos include roast meat with ajoaceite. Traditional sweet treats include “els pastissos de carabassa”, “rotllos d’aiguardent” and “rollos d’ou”.
When choosing a holiday apartment in Els Rosildos, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can provide a practical basis for comparison. Alongside these are the destination’s different themes: routes, rock art, cycling routes, climbing, technical features, festivals and cuisine. This keeps the accommodation decision separate from the choice of activities.
Another connected place is Els Ibarsos.
