La Marina can be discovered through various facets: coast and cycling route, pine landscape and festivals, as well as historical traces on the beach. Beach and coast
Playa La Marina is 1,100 metres long. Playa La Marina has an accessible bathing area adapted for all visitors. Playa La Marina can be reached by regular bus services from Alicante and San Fulgencio. Beach length, bathing area and bus connection are different details that you can take into account separately when planning.
Cycling route
SenderElx is a circular route more than 40 kilometres long. Except for the turn-off to the Museo de Pusol, the entire route is accessible by bicycle. SenderElx enables you to explore the Vinalopó river system in the south of the municipal area as well as the beaches of El Pinet and La Marina. The length, the exception at the turn-off and the destinations can be considered separately when planning a cycling tour.
Natural area
Together with the palm groves of Elche, the Pinada de La Marina forms the municipality of Elche’s only wooded area. The Pinada de La Marina was established at the end of the 19th century and is located in a Natura 2000 site. The 2,470-hectare park lies between the municipal areas of Elche, in the La Marina pedanía, and Santa Pola. The time of its establishment, protected status and area size describe the landscape from different perspectives.
Culture and history
The Fiestas Patronales de La Marina de Elche are celebrated on 4 October. The Fiestas Patronales de La Marina include the traditional presentation of sashes, a floral offering and a procession. During the traditional Mig Any in La Marina, a large paella is prepared in May. The third edition of the Festival d’Havaneres was announced for 29 August 2025 from 9 p.m. at Playa del Pinet beach in La Marina. The festival was intended to continue a tradition more than one hundred years old, during which local residents sang and played guitars by the sea. The watchtower on Playa del Pinet beach in La Marina was part of the network of watchtowers and defensive towers built throughout the municipal area of Elche in the 16th century. In Elche, the Torre del Pinet is listed as a monument.
