Holiday apartment in La Palma: Lace-Making, Church and Beaches

The Museo del Bolillo de La Palma displays both newer and older lace-making works. Its collection includes doilies, lace trims, towels, cushions and appliqués. Among the lace-making works on display are also pieces, some of which are more than one hundred years old.

Culture

The Iglesia de Santa Florentina in La Palma was established as an independent parish on 8 February 1700, after one of the hermitages there had been converted into a parish. The altarpiece of the Iglesia de Santa Florentina was created by Casa Pujante from Murcia and installed in 1954. The church has a crypt that extends along the central nave and provides space for more than one hundred burials. The Iglesia de Santa Florentina was recently restored, with the original paintings and decorations being reinstated.

Events

The official 2026 Holy Week agenda listed a procession in La Palma on Palm Sunday, organised by the Cofradía de las Ánimas La Palma. The Juegos Florales de La Palma began in March 1957 and continue to this day.

The Festival Nacional de Folclore de la Comarca de Cartagena took place in La Palma in 2025; the XXXII edition was also held there. As part of the XXXII Festival Nacional de Folclore de la Comarca de Cartagena, guided tours of the Casa del Folclore were offered.

Landscape

Several clearly named places are located in the surrounding area of La Palma: the Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Cartagena, a museum; the Museo Regional de Arte Moderno, a museum; the Parque Arqueológico Cerro del Molinete, an ancient site; the Museo Nacional de Arqueología Subacuática, a museum; and the Mirador Parque Minero de La Unión, a viewpoint.

The Playa de la Concha, a beach, Beach Carrion, a beach, and the Playa de Manzanares, a beach, are also located in the surrounding area of La Palma.

Spiritual

Visitors to the Monasterio Nuestra Señora de la Paz are invited to attend the services and the daily Eucharistic celebration. The Monasterio Nuestra Señora de la Paz is set up for individuals and groups who wish to spend several days there in a spiritual environment.
