The Nuestra Señora de Osquía hermitage was built in 1570. The Nuestra Señora de Osquía hermitage is home to a Renaissance depiction of the Virgin of Osquía from the 16th century, which is venerated there. The building is located by the roadside in Atondo. The Church of San Martín de Tours is a rural stone building that was rebuilt in modern times, but it retains the outline of the walls and the bell tower from the 16th century.

In the upper part of Atondo stands the Palacio de Zamarguinarenas, a heraldic house with a pointed-arch portal decorated with cabochons. Atondo has been identified with „Alantone“, the 17th stop on a route.

Pilgrimage and Festivals

The pilgrimage procession to Osquía begins on the Sunday closest to 15 May, in San Martín de Atondo. During the pilgrimage, the pilgrims stop for a break at Alto de Artiza between Ochovi and Atondo.

The religious events also include the Fiestas de Atondo in honour of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. They are celebrated on 14 and 15 August.
