Water, Nature, and Trails

The regulated area of Losacino – including Castillo de Alba, Muga de Alba, and Vide de Alba – comprises the Parque Micológico (PMZA-50.001) and its extension area as a single zone. One mushroom-picking permit is sufficient for the entire area.

Castillo de Alba can be reached via the road from Carbajales to Fonfría. A dirt track leads down to the end of an inlet of the Ricobayo Reservoir, and several paths climb among the trees to the castle hill.

A mountain biking route begins in Losacino and follows the bank of the Aliste River towards Vide de Alba.

You can arrange the main points according to your own travel pace. A cultural focus can be given different weight from activities on the water; connections with nature and rural architecture can in turn be considered separately. You do not have to derive a fixed itinerary from this and can combine the themes or plan them individually.

Getting There

From Zamora or Salamanca, Losacino can be reached via the ZA-P-1405, which runs through La Hiniesta and Carbajales. From Benavente, the route follows the ZA-100 towards Tábara and then the ZA-902 to Losacino.

When planning your trip personally, you can treat cultural sites, nature, and activities differently. A date in the calendar stands alongside the other topics as a separate time reference. You decide for yourself which aspects shape your trip and in what order you consider them.
