Culture

The Puente de Torquemada connects the town of Torquemada with the left bank of the Pisuerga River and has 25 arches. From its parapets, you can enjoy views of the river, a mill and the Iglesia de Santa Eulalia.

The Iglesia de Santa Eulalia dates back to the 16th century and shows echoes of earlier periods. Its large bell gable was built in the 17th century by Jacinto de los Cuetos.

More than 500 wine cellars are recorded in the ensemble of wine cellars. It includes a specially prepared bodega dedicated to the production and storage of wine.

At the fair, everyone present can try the Pimiento de Torquemada roasted over wood. The name combines the regional product with an explicitly mentioned preparation method.

After the fair at the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Valdesalce, thousands of portions of “Pan y el Quesillo” are distributed to those present.

Events

The Circuito de Motocross de Torquemada is located on the mountain next to the Santuario de Valdesalce in the municipality of Torquemada. It hosts the provincial motocross tournament of the Diputación de Palencia.
