Secarejo: Culture, Mill Traces and the Órbigo

Secarejo preserves interesting examples of the region’s traditional residential architecture. Remains of an oil mill have been preserved at a weir on the Órbigo. These two testimonies place different emphases: here, the town’s architectural heritage stands alongside a specific trace by the water.

Culture

The parish church of Secarejo is dedicated to Saint John Beheaded. A 13th-century image of Saint Catherine displays a transition from Romanesque to Gothic style. A Baroque, pre-Churrigueresque altarpiece has been preserved in Secarejo.
