The Santuario de la Virgen Peregrina is part of a former Franciscan monastery founded around 1257 and was protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) in 1931. Today, the Santuario serves as a cultural and exhibition centre as well as a documentation centre for the Camino de Santiago, with a Jacobean library. The Museo de Semana Santa next to the Church of San Lorenzo houses one of the most important collections of processional sculptures in northern Spain.

Another prominent landmark is the Arco de San Benito, a Baroque structure. It was built in 1662 according to the designs of the architect Felipe Berrojo as part of the main entrance to the monastery grounds.
