Discover Pendilla: La Carisa, Tres Concejos and Holiday Apartments

Pendilla provides access to Pico Tres Concejos: the Pendilla–La Carisa–Tres Concejos route follows livestock tracks near Propinde. The ascent begins in Pendilla de Arbás and follows the old Carisa road through the Bustamores valley to Propinde Pass. The route starts from Pendilla beside an information sign for the Calzada Romana La Carisa.

From Pendilla, a track follows the original Calzada de La Carisa over Collada de Propinde and onward to Asturias.

The Vía de La Carisa running from Pendilla is signposted and officially certified as GR 100 Vía de la Plata / Vía Carisa. It can be walked or ridden by mountain bike.

Pico Tres Concejos is 2,020 metres high. In the Bustamor Valley, several waterfalls can be seen along the easier return option of the Pendilla route.

History and culture

Mina Colón is located on the slopes of Pendilla. It has been used for copper extraction since the Bronze Age.

A section of the Roman road remains along La Carisa, extending for more than fifteen kilometres between Tonín and the area around the Curriellos camp.

A Roman fort, currently being excavated, is located along the La Carisa route.

The village church of Pendilla stands in the upper part of the settlement. A heraldic stone carving from 1704 adorns a façade in Pendilla.

Pendilla was one of the places belonging to the former Concejo de la Abadía de Santa María de Arbas. In Pendilla, the feast day of San Roque falls on 16 August.
