Geographical Setting

La Revilla lies on the slopes of Peña de Villanueva; from the settlement, views extend across the Lara, Demanda and Pinares comarcas. Peña de San Carlos forms a natural viewpoint over the Arlanza Valley.

Several fragments of Roman stelae are documented in the walls of the Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Amparo, including an inscribed fragment from the 1st century AD. The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Vega houses the sculpture Virgen sedente con el Niño, a polychrome seated Madonna and Child (Nuestra Señora del Amparo) dating from the first third of the 14th century. It comes from the Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Amparo.

Festivities and Traditions

Getting There

La Revilla and Ahedo can be reached via a turn-off from the N-234 Burgos–Sagunto road. This turn-off is located four kilometres from Salas de los Infantes in the direction of Burgos.
