Ribeira: Coast, Culture and Pilgrimage Route

Playa de Coroso is located in Santa Uxía de Ribeira. It has a seafront promenade, offers views of Ribeira, Isla de Rúa and the outer section of the Ría de Arousa, and is 1,750 metres long.

The nearby area around Santa Uxía de Ribeira also includes Praia Cativa ou Gavoteira do Fontán, Playa Coroso and Playa Azor; all three are beaches. The Mirador Da Rá, a viewpoint, is also located nearby. This means that the coast includes both named beach locations and a viewpoint, while Playa de Coroso is additionally characterised by its promenade, its views and its specific length.

Culture

The Sala Museo Municipal de Ribeira displays more than 700 objects donated by residents in a renovated building in the centre of Santa Uxía de Ribeira. The Casa Solariega Dos Otero Goyanes, also known as Pazo dos Marqueses de Revilla, is a private building; only its exterior can be viewed.

The cultural sites range from the museum in the centre to facilities and named buildings in the surrounding area. The Museo Municipal de Ribeira is located near Santa Uxía de Ribeira. The Fundación Museo de Artes do Gravado á Estampa Dixital is a museum near Santa Uxía de Ribeira. The Parque Periurbano De San Roque is also listed as a museum in the same nearby area. The Museo Valle-Inclan Pobra do Caramiñal, classified as a museum, is also located in the area around Santa Uxía de Ribeira.

Pilgrimage Route

The Porto de Santa Uxía de Ribeira is located on the Ruta del Mar de Arousa y Ulla. The Igrexa Parroquial de Santa Uxía is also on the same route. The port and church are therefore connected by the same named route.

The Camino de Santiago is more than 120 kilometres long. Its route runs in five stages through the municipalities of Ribeira, A Pobra, Boiro, Rianxo, Dodro and Padrón; Ribeira is part of its route. Food and Drink

The Mercado municipal de Ribeira has more than 20 stalls selling fish, meat, fruit and frozen goods. The market therefore explicitly offers both animal and plant-based products, as well as frozen goods. The modern building of the Lonja de Ribeira was designed by César Portela together with the Díaz&Díaz Arquitectos firm. The port of Ribeira's bustling activity gives the Lonja de Ribeira great tourist appeal.

Activities

The building of the Club Náutico de Ribeira, inaugurated in 2001, is a centre for a wide range of activities. In addition to the beaches, viewpoint and cultural sites, a separately named building of the Club Náutico is therefore also part of the local amenities described.
