Paths by the Water

In the centre of Rianxo, the route From the promenade to A Torre Beach begins and follows the seafront promenade, with views of the Ría de Arousa.

Beyond A Torre Beach, this route can be continued along a path through the coastal vegetation towards Punta de Iñobre and the Peirao de Taragoña.

The route A Walk through Rianxo begins at Praza de Castelao and ends at Tanxil Beach.

Literature and Architectural Heritage

Casa de Manuel Antonio is the birthplace of the poet Manuel Antonio, who was born there in 1900.

Since 2011, the building has housed the Casa Museo de Manuel Antonio, where visitors can trace the life of the avant-garde poet.

The Casa Museo Manuel Antonio displays family furniture, photographs, letters, personal belongings, original documents and audiovisual material.

Casa de Castelao is considered a typical urban building of Galician coastal towns from the late 19th or early 20th century; its façade features balconies and a gallery.

Igrexa de Santa Comba de Rianxo is a single-nave granite church from the 15th century.

Its portal dates from the 16th century, while the tower was built in the 18th century.

The church is approximately 300 m on foot from Praza de Castelao.

The present-day building of Pazo de Martelo was constructed in the late 17th or early 18th century, after an earlier building with a tower had been demolished.

Castelo da Lúa is considered the only surviving medieval archaeological site in Rianxo.

It was probably built in the 13th century by Paio Gómez Charino.

Religious Heritage and Festivities

Hórreo do Araño stands beside Igrexa de Santa Baia.

It is the longest granary in all of Galicia and has the greatest capacity.

Since 1854, Capela da Virxe de Guadalupe has safeguarded the venerated image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, created by the religious brother Frei Xosé de Santiago, who came from Rianxo.

Festividade da Virxe de Guadalupe has been designated a Galician festival of tourist interest.

Its main event is a maritime procession in which the Moreniña is accompanied on a sailing boat by more than 100 boats.

Festividade da Virxe de Guadalupe ends with a communal sing-along in Praza de Castelao.

Sea, River and Craftsmanship

Museo do Mar de Rianxo is housed in an old building called Casa do coxo.

It shows how traditional boats are built.

The museum also explains how local residents obtain their food from the sea.

The mouth of the Ulla River in Rianxo is characterised by a distinctive setting and a diverse range of animal and plant life.
