In the area of the host municipality, Alto da Croa/Alto do Castro is a Castro with a single enclosure. An earthen rampart and a ditch surround the site. Alto da Croa/Alto do Castro is a fortified settlement. From Pardaces de Arriba, a short footpath leads towards the summit of Monte da Fontecova. This describes a route with a clearly named starting point and a defined direction.

The R9 – Río Sarela hiking route runs from Pardaces de Arriba to Laraño. The R15 – Río Sarela hiking route runs from Pardaces de Arriba to Santiago de Compostela. Both routes are therefore named after the Río Sarela, while their destinations are specified differently.

History

In the wider regional area, the Camino Real was one of the seven traditional medieval routes to Compostela. The route connected the city with the Bergantiños region. Its historical classification therefore encompasses both the number of traditional routes and the connection between the city and the region.
