Cabana Moura: Camino de Santiago, Landscape and Culture

Cabana Moura lies inland from the Ría de Muros-Noia and along the Camino de Santiago route to Finisterre. The Camiño de Muros-Noia was officially recognized as a Camino de Santiago route on December 15, 2020; Outes is one of the municipalities through which it passes. Cabanamoura lies on the western slope of the A Pena mountain range and at the foot of the Monteagudo and Pedra da Vella peaks.

Landscape

Cabanamoura lies between the meanders of the Río Das Donas. The river bends lead to its mouth in the Tambre marshes, which are part of the Esteiro do Tambre Natura 2000 site. In the valley of the Río Donas stream are small agricultural hamlets, cattle pastures, and small maize fields. Thus, along the river, cultivated land, hamlets, and pastureland alternate with the protected estuary area. The Cabanamoura hiking route continues north from a junction at the northern edge of the village. The Ruta Pedra da Vella also begins at Casa Perfeuto María in Cabanamoura.
