A Coruña has six city beaches and several other coves that are suitable for swimming, walking, playing sports or simply enjoying views of the sea.
Water sports such as surfing, sailing, windsurfing, diving, rowing and canoeing can be enjoyed year-round along more than two kilometres of beach.
The 70-metre-long As Lapas Beach lies at the foot of the Tower of Hercules and offers views of the ancient monument, which dates back thousands of years.

Museums and Routes
The House of Science is an interactive museum where visitors can learn more about science, physics and astronomy through exhibitions, interactive modules and a planetarium.

The English Way to Santiago begins at Santiago Church in the historic centre of A Coruña.
The route runs for 6.8 kilometres through A Coruña and ends in O Portazgo in Culleredo; Santiago de Compostela is then another 68 kilometres away.
Panoramic Views
Monte de San Pedro was formerly a defensive position and has been transformed into a park for residents and tourists since 1999.
From Monte de San Pedro, views extend across the Atlantic and the coast to Arteixo and the Illas Sisargas near Malpica de Bergantiños. You can also see the city, the Costa Ártabra, the Ría de A Coruña with Mera, Santa Cruz and the coast of Oleiros, as well as the Rías of Betanzos, Ares and Ferrol further on, reaching the outer-port coastline.
