Culture and History

The Església de Santa Cecília de Gotarta is located in the centre of Gotarta. The church lies within the municipal area of El Pont de Suert. It is small and rectangular. It was built in the 18th century and is dedicated to Santa Cecília. It was constructed on the site of an earlier church dedicated to Sant Miquel. Thus, the present dedication to Santa Cecília, the 18th-century construction and the former dedication to Sant Miquel are all connected with this location.

The celebration of Santa Cecília takes place in Gotarta on 22 November. The Esglesia de Sant Climent, a church, is also located in the area around Gotarta. Pilaret de Sant Urbà is another church in the area around Gotarta. The Esglesia de Sant Esteve de Ginast is likewise a church in the area around Gotarta.
