Serinyà is located in the north of the Pla de l’Estany comarca, directly on the border with the Garrotxa comarca, in the lower course of the Ser River where it joins the Fluvià.

Culture

The Parc de les Coves Prehistòriques de Serinyà features a permanent exhibition that reconstructs the everyday life of Upper Palaeolithic big-game hunters and displays reproductions of some of the remains found in the caves.

This route also includes the remarkable Bora Gran d’en Carreres rock shelter, where Upper Palaeolithic remains were found.

The Pla de Martís i Fluvià circular route includes riverside landscapes and birdwatching.

It runs near the confluence of the Ser and Fluvià and along the edge of the Fares Island wildlife reserve.

The easy BTT Ruta 10: Ruta de Serinyà i l’Estany de Banyoles begins at Casa dels Enginyers and heads towards Serinyà, passing the Arqueoparc Coves de Serinyà.

The mountain-bike route then goes around Estany de Banyoles and climbs up to Pla de Martís.

The Sant Galderic circular route follows flat forest paths through the open Pla de Martís plain.

The route offers impressive panoramic views.
