Discover Lavern: Trails, Culture and History

A route between vineyards and wine cellars connects the settlements of Ca Batista, Can Bas, Ca l’Avi, Corral del Mestre and Can Cartró with the town of Lavern. Lavern is connected to the Via Augusta Penedès route. The town is also connected to the Penedès 360º Slow-Bike route. The Sant Sadurní d’Anoia–Lavern section of the Via Augusta is a 5.60-kilometre hiking route. The connection therefore comprises a clearly designated section between Sant Sadurní d’Anoia and Lavern.

Trails and Cycling

The Enobicing Penedès area is located at the Lavern-Subirats station near the Riera de Lavernó. Electric bicycles are rented there for El Camí del Riu. Conventional bicycles are also available for hire for the same route. The Estació Vitivinícola de Lavern provides tourist information. Its services also include bicycle rental. The Estació also has an area for motorhomes. It is the starting point for the routes of Subirats. Lavern-Subirats station is a stop on Rodalies de Renfe’s R4 line.

The cycling services specify two concrete types of vehicle for El Camí del Riu: electric bicycles and conventional bicycles. Culture and History

The Ateneu Agrícola de Lavern was founded in 1918. It has a theatre and a bar-café. The Ateneu offers cultural activities. Its services also include leisure activities. The Festa Major of Lavern takes place on the last weekend of June. Its features include procession dances as well as festive figure performances or festive animal figures.

The Torrota del Moro archaeological site includes Roman pottery finds on the surface. The preserved remains include a wall. Its average height is approximately 3.20 metres. The wall’s maximum width is 4.5 metres. The Torrota del Moro archaeological site is located 300 metres from Ca l’Almirall in the area of Lavern.

Nature and Places

Font de Ca l’Olivella has an area equipped for visitors. This facility includes a table and benches. A rubbish bin is also provided. The area’s amenities therefore include seating and a waste disposal point.

The route names Via Augusta, Via Augusta Penedès and Penedès 360º are each associated with Lavern. The station is called Lavern-Subirats and belongs to Rodalies de Renfe’s R4 line.
