In Sant Pere Sallavinera, the Nits Culturals de Sant Pere Sallavinera have reached their 29th edition. Year after year, they are held in the town as musical evenings. The series is dedicated to promoting classical music and is aimed at audiences of all ages. The Nits Culturals include evening events held outdoors in the town’s Plaça Major. The venue is therefore present not only in the name of the series, but also as a specific place for the musical evenings. Their recurring nature and the fact that they have reached their 29th edition give the Nits Culturals a clearly recognisable continuity over time.

History

The church of Sant Joan de la Fortesa was rebuilt in the 17th century. Castell de Boixadors was built in the 11th century to strengthen the defensive and administrative network of the conquered territory. Its original structure was a freestanding, circular keep with three levels. The church of Sant Pere de Boixadors is considered to be located below Castell de Boixadors. It was originally Romanesque in style and was later remodelled several times in the Gothic style. In 2020, the public access points to the main hall and the east tower of the Boixadors monument complex were adapted to complete the visitor route. Thus, different construction phases stand side by side at this historic site: the construction of the keep in the 11th century, the church’s Romanesque origins and its later Gothic remodellings. The church of Sant Joan de la Fortesa, rebuilt in the 17th century, is also one of the historical testimonies mentioned. In connection with the visitor route, the Boixadors monument complex explicitly includes the main hall and the east tower.

At Castell de Boixadors, the construction history is structured by several specific features. The construction of the circular keep in the 11th century was followed by the Romanesque origins of the church located below it and its later Gothic remodellings. The church of Sant Joan de la Fortesa, meanwhile, represents a rebuilding in the 17th century. The route through the monument complex includes the main hall and the east tower; public access to these areas was adapted in 2020 to complete the route.

Nature

Font Puda is located in a wooded area. The water from Font Puda flows into the Riera de la Font Puda. The water contains sulphur; in the past, it was collected for therapeutic baths.

Townscape and Access

Sant Pere Sallavinera forms an elongated street along the access road on a small ridge. The church that gives the town its name stands at its end. Sant Pere Sallavinera is connected via the Eix Transversal C-25 transport axis and the BV-1001 road. The townscape is therefore defined by its location on the small ridge, its layout along the access road and the church at the end of the street. The two transport links mentioned complement this description by providing the town’s connections to the wider road network.
