Culture

The Iglesia Parroquial de Santo Domingo has a Baroque wooden altarpiece from the 17th century. Castillo Aben Yucef has a square red sandstone tower; remains of a wall have been preserved around it. Castillo Aben Yucef can be visited by prior appointment with the town hall.

The Ermita de Ntra Sra. de Luciana consists of a chapel and a bullring and was classified as a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) in June 2002. Its single-nave interior includes a main chapel covered by a ribbed vault and an 18th-century Marian camarín.

La Ontavia is a Roman archaeological site that has been designated a Bien de Interés Patrimonial (BIP) since July 2017. La Ontavia can currently be visited on request. Castillejo del Bonete is a solar sanctuary consisting of several tumulus tombs connected by corridors; some of these corridors are astronomically aligned with the winter solstice. Castillejo del Bonete was used during the Chalcolithic and Bronze Age and was classified as a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) in 2014. Castillejo del Bonete can currently be visited on request.

Terrileza is an educational and sensory space where the natural wealth of Terrinches can be discovered from one of the municipality’s most impressive landscape sites, the Hoz de San Isidro. Terrileza includes information panels, a projection room, informative activities, a panoramic view and an odorama conveying the characteristic scents of the local flora. The PR-CR 16 reaches the Hoz de San Isidro, follows the watercourse to a lagoon and then climbs to the viewpoint at the Ermita de San Isidro.

Festivals and Cuisine

The Romería de San Isidro in Terrinches takes place every year on 15 May at the Paraje de San Isidro. The celebration on 15 May includes religious activities, traditional games, outdoor meals and family gatherings. The Romería de San Isidro is classified as a Fiesta de Interés Turístico Regional.
