Discover Reocín: Puente de Golbardo, Gardens and Labyrinth

Reocín showcases its history at Puente de Golbardo, which is protected as a monument with the status of a Bien de Interés Cultural. The bridge over the Saja River is one of the first reinforced-concrete bridges built in Spain at the beginning of the 20th century.

Culture and History

The Palacio y Torre de Bustamante in Quijas, Reocín, was declared a national historic-artistic monument in 1982. The Finca Puente San Miguel is a Bien de Interés Cultural in the category of Historic Garden and was granted corresponding protection in 1986.

The gardens of the Finca Puente San Miguel were designed in the 1950s by the landscape designer Winthuysen. They include a significant selection of tree species from around the world.

In the small complex of buildings known as the Casa de Juntas de Cantabria, the Nine Valleys of Asturias de Santillana agreed in 1778 to unite as a province that would henceforth be subject to royal rule.

The Villapresente Labyrinth is located in the village of Villapresente within the municipality of Reocín. Covering 5,625 m², the cypress labyrinth, laid out in the Victorian style, has a variable level of difficulty and is suitable for the whole family.
