The Castro de la Peña de Sámano is a publicly owned pre-Roman archaeological site protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural. Culture

The Iglesia de San Nicolás de Bari is a monumental single-nave church with five bays, ribbed cross vaults with tierceron ribs and a polygonal apse. Its sacristy has star vaults, and a neoclassical portal is located on the south side. Other notable architectural features include the water reservoirs in the Barrio de Dombergón: they were built around 1900 to designs by Eladio Laredo and form part of the municipality’s industrial architectural heritage.

Sámano is also home to the Cueva de La Lastrilla, a monument registered as a Bien de Interés Cultural. The different architectural forms and place names provide several distinct points of reference for the cultural theme, from the fortified complex to the religious and industrial monuments.
