Sea and harbour

Five boats are available for maritime excursions at Puerto de Arguineguín. Regular boat connections from Puerto de Arguineguín serve Anfi del Mar, Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogán. Kayaks and pedal boats can be rented at Anfi del Mar beach in La Playa de Arguineguín. Playa de Arguineguín is easy to reach on foot as well as by car or boat. E-7 Pantai Sup Center Gran Canaria is listed in Arguineguín as a SUP and surfing centre.

In front of Montaña Arena beach, at a depth of 23 metres on a sandy seabed, lies the artificial reef Arrecife artificial de Arguineguín, consisting of several dozen concrete structures. Created in 1991, the reef promotes the settlement of various marine species; among others, Roncador reef fish, garden eels, angel sharks, moray eels and octopuses can be observed.

Nature and trails

Numerous hiking routes start from Arguineguín, allowing visitors to explore Gran Canaria’s natural landscapes. The Costa de Mogán stretches from Puerto Pesquero de Arguineguín to Tasartico and lies within a protected area.

Culture and local cuisine

The Fiestas del Carmen take place in Arguineguín in July. During the Fiestas del Carmen, local people carry the image of the Virgin Mary by boat between coastal towns in the municipality; numerous decorated boats follow in a procession. The Fiestas del Carmen in Arguineguín and Playa de Mogán include religious ceremonies, cultural activities, folk dancing, concerts, sports competitions and traditional games.

There are numerous restaurants serving traditional Canarian cuisine around Puerto de Arguineguín; freshly caught fish is served there almost immediately.
