Nature and Coast

Off the coast of La Restinga lies the Punta de La Restinga–Mar de Las Calmas Marine Reserve. It is sheltered from the trade winds and is home to tropical species that do not occur elsewhere in the archipelago. Along the coast, Playa La Restinga combines calm waters with black sand of volcanic origin.

The beach offers accessible access for people with reduced mobility, as well as toilets, showers and foot showers. Beneath the surface, the volcanic character continues: Punta Restinga is an underwater lava tongue with cliffs, steep walls, sandy platforms and caves.

Diving and Harbour

The Muelle La Restinga dive site is accessible via the stairs of its own pier and is used for training and introductory dives. The El Desierto dive site includes crevices and caves where pelagic species and large groupers can be observed.

El Desierto is located in the Mar de Las Calmas Marine Reserve and is home to a large colony of garden eels. The diving area around Punta Restinga includes large groupers, stingrays and trumpetfish. During night dives at Muelle La Restinga, marine life such as angel sharks and lobsters can be observed at the harbour entrance.

The harbour of La Restinga serves leisure and fishing boats and has 22 berths for boats up to 20 metres long. The anchorage at Punta Restinga is two minutes by boat from the harbour of La Restinga.
