Culture and History

In the area around Miñagón, the Castro de Pendia can be reached via the AS-12, followed by a two-kilometre paved track and a narrow footpath of approximately 800 metres. From Froseira, a two-kilometre trail with a significant incline leads to the Cova del Demo. The cave interior is blocked by a grille; access requires authorisation from the cultural authorities of the Principality of Asturias.

The Ruta de Penouta (PR-AS-250) is considered a 20-kilometre route of medium difficulty. From the sections near Llamiceiras and El Sellón, it offers panoramic views of the Castro de Pendia, Miñagón and Villanueva.

A hiking route connects Miñagón and Pendia and begins at the Casa Rural del Abuelo Justo. The route from Miñagón to the Castro de Pendia is an easy 4.86-kilometre round trip. Another hike leads from Villar de Serandías via Serandías, Miñagón and Villanova to the Capilla del Cristo de Capareiro. Water and Landscape
