History

A Roman road connected Lucus Asturum, present-day Lugo de Llanera, with Lucus Augusti and continued from there via Iria Flavia towards Bracara Augusta. Excavation campaigns took place in the area around the former parish church of Santa María de Lugo de Llanera and its rectory during the 1980s and 1990s.
