Nature and Trails
Route PR AS-1 offers a 6-kilometre linear option from Calleras to Agüera or San Pedro de Paredes, with a moderate level of difficulty. An Adrado variant of this route climbs to the braña of Adrado, where traditional high-pasture buildings can be visited.
Route PR AS-2 starts at Calleras church square and leads back into the village of Calleras. Covering approximately 3 kilometres, it runs parallel to the Esva River and passes over steps and wooden walkways.
Along the route through the Hoces del Esva are riparian forests with alders, ash trees, willows and poplars; oaks and chestnut trees also grow there. The different route lengths and paths provide a clear basis for comparing options when planning a day trip.
The Esva River in the Hoces area offers opportunities for sport fishing for trout, sea trout, eel and salmon. The Esva, or Ese, Basin is home to the largest otter population in Asturias.
