Culture

The former parish church of San Martín de Pigüeña is part of Asturias's cultural heritage. As a former church, it has a structure typical of rural Asturian buildings, with a central nave and an attached bell tower. Its west-facing main façade has an entrance framed by a round arch.

Near Pigüeña are the remains of the original church of San Martino de Pigüenna; these remains are used as a cemetery. The newer church of Pigüeña, located at a higher elevation, contains a Baroque altarpiece. Pigüeña also has numerous old houses, including one with a coat of arms.
