Lécera is located in the flat steppe landscapes of the Campo de Belchite comarca. The original Santa María Magdalena Church was built in the 16th century as a single-nave Mudéjar church with a polygonal apse. Culture

A Baroque extension of Santa María Magdalena Church transformed the side chapels into side aisles and added a tower to the south wall. Santa María Magdalena Church in Lécera has been classified as a “Bien Catalogado del Patrimonio Cultural Aragonés” (Listed Property of Aragonese Cultural Heritage). The Chapel of Santa Cenobia, the town’s patron saint, has been under construction since 1686. The Ermita de Santo Domingo in Lécera is regarded as an exemplary Baroque hermitage building because of its construction and typological value.

Every year, Lécera hosts the “Jesús Gracia” sung Jota competition. Lécera has an ethnological museum featuring contributions from private collections, including those of local residents. The signposted short circular hiking trail Lécera–Fuente Piñispera begins in Lécera and leads to Fuente Piñispera. The Lécera–Fuente Piñispera circular route is 16 km long and moderately difficult. The Lécera–Santa Bárbara route is 4.5 km long and rated easy. The Lécera–Rebollosa–Cucutas route is 10 km long and has a moderate difficulty level.

Landscape

At the Muladar in the Lécera steppe, there is an observatory set up for observing numerous scavenging birds. Fuente de Peñispera is a refuge for birds of prey in an environment shaped by ravines and rock formations. The peaks of Cucutas reach 989 m and are the highest in the entire comarca.

The dry, barren soils and extreme climate in Lécera favour the cultivation of Garnacha; the vines produce red wines with an intense flavour and rich colour.
