Espierba – Hiking Trails, Sierra and Traditions

Espierba can be explored through marked trails, alpine landscapes and traditional culture passed down through the generations. The marked PR-HU 192 hiking trail (“Camino de los pueblos del valle de Bielsa y Pineta”) connects several villages in the municipality of Bielsa, including Javierre, Espierba and the hamlet of Las Cortes. Following traditional mule tracks, the trail links the valleys of Bielsa, Pineta and the Río Real; at the same time, it focuses on Espierba and the Sierra de Espierba.

Hiking and Nature

The PR-HU 192 includes a branch from Espierba to the hamlet of Las Cortes. Its main route leads from Espierba via the Collado de Sarratillons to the Plana de Petramula.

A circular hike leads from Espierba via Diera, El Cuezo, Comodoto, Plana Fonda and La Estiva back to Espierba; the route is considered to present no particular difficulty.

The peaks of Comodoto, Tozal del Suco, Punta Coplán and Punta Facera are located in the vicinity of Espierba.
