The Lavaderos of the Fuente de Nuestra Señora de la Estrella are part of the site. They are located about 25 metres from the fountain and comprise 16 washing places with granite slabs. Another named spring is the Fuente Abades. It lies about 3 km northwest of El Garrobo on the N-433 towards Aracena.

Trails and getting there

Several specifically named routes lead to or from El Garrobo. The Sendero de los Camellos begins in El Garrobo and follows the Colada de los Camellos to the Rivera del Guadiamar. Stage 2 of the Camino Benedictino runs along the SE-535 to El Garrobo and then continues towards Gerena. One hiking trail leads from El Garrobo to Las Pajanosas; another is the Camino de Guillena.

From Seville, El Garrobo can be reached by car via the A-66 to exit 782, followed by the N-630 and the N-433. El Garrobo has no railway station; a bus connection is available from the Plaza de Armas bus station.

Local cuisine

Local specialities from El Garrobo include Pestorejo, Menudo and stews made with game meat and regional Iberian pork. Sausages and other products made from Iberian pork are also produced in El Garrobo and can be sampled by visitors.
