Festivals and Customs

During Las Candelarias, numerous fires are lit throughout the town using the remains of olive pruning. Chorizo, morcilla, panceta and good wine are enjoyed together.

During the Romería de San Isidro, floats and horses travel to Finca El Cañuelo to celebrate the day of the patron saint of farmers. Nueva Carteya’s Semana Santa includes a procession of silence in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
