The maritime side of Garrucha comes into particularly clear view along the Paseo del Malecón: The approximately one-kilometer-long waterfront promenade is accompanied by a balustrade made of white Macael marble and offers views of the fishing harbor. Culture and History

Castillo de Jesús Nazareno was built in 1769. It is a coastal defense fortress with a semicircular artillery battery facing the sea and two round towers on its flanks.

The Antigua Chimenea, also popularly known as Calvario, was built at the end of the 19th century as a pyramid-shaped chimney for Garrucha’s former mineral-processing plants. It is 72 feet high and now features a pedestrian area and a viewpoint.

Maritime World

Castillo de Jesús Nazareno, also known as Castillo de las Escobetas, houses Nautarum in Garrucha, an interpretation center for the maritime world and its culture.
