The Santuario de la Virgen del Saliente stands on Monte Roel in the Sierra de las Estancias and was built in the 18th century. Its complex includes a chapel, an episcopal palace and a mission seminary. The sanctuary church has a Latin cross floor plan, a trefoil-shaped apse, a dome and polychrome woodwork.
The Torre Terdiguera in Terdiguera in Albox is a solid cylindrical Nasrid tower from the 13th century and is protected as an Asset of Cultural Interest. The Iglesia de Santa María is a Baroque church built between 1718 and 1728, with a Latin cross floor plan, a central nave and two side aisles containing chapels. At Plaza de San Francisco, the Iglesia de la Concepción preserves paintings by the Almerian artist Andrés Ibáñez.

Pilgrimage and trails
The religious pilgrimage to the Santuario del Saliente takes place every year on 7 September from Plaza Mayor de Albox, follows the course of the Rambla to the sanctuary and has been recognised as a festival of tourist interest in Andalusia.
The Ruta de senderismo por la rambla Honda is a designated hiking route in Albox.
