It then crosses Turn at an elevation of 1,261 metres and reaches Koča na Klopnem vrhu. On the return journey from Klopni vrh, visitors can visit a partisan memorial site. From Klopni vrh, the route continues towards Pesek and then to Rogla or the Lovrenška jezera. The route described thus connects several named points without losing their sequence.

History and Culture

Kumen is first mentioned between 1193 and 1220. In the settlement of Kumen, the project for the first Lovrenška cookbook was proposed and put to a vote. Near a former mountain hut stands a pyramid-shaped monument made of rubble stone, with a star at its top and an inset commemorative plaque; it was unveiled on 23 August 1956. A monument was erected near the former hospital in 1974. Of the buildings of the former hospital, only reinforced depressions in the ground are visible. The historical references thus range from the first mention, through a proposed cookbook project, to the surviving traces of former structures and the two monuments with their stated years.
