Rob in Slovenia – Kobilji curek, Church and Holiday Apartment
Rob in Slovenia combines natural and historical traces around Kobilji curek. In the gorge of the stream of the same name lies Kobilji curek, a 30 m-high waterfall. It consists of two tiers separated by a barely visible plateau. The 3.04-hectare area around Kobilji curek is designated as a forest reserve and is home to the Slovenian endemic Carniolan primrose (Primula carniolica). The remains of the Roman barrier wall, the Claustra, can also be found in the gorge. The spatial references remain distinct: the waterfall and wall remains are located in the gorge, while the forest reserve and plant habitat refer to the area around Kobilji curek.
Culture
Rob is home to the Parish Church of the Nativity of Mary, a church building with a clearly stated year of completion: it was completed in 1845. The church is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary and celebrates its patronal feast on 8 September.
History
The Roman traces are brought to life along the route by an archaeological stereoscope. It provides a view of what the barrier wall at Kobilji curek looked like in the Late Roman period.
Things to do
Rocks can be explored along the geology trail at Kobilji curek. A cycling route operated by the Municipality of Velike Lašče passes through Rob. Part of this cycling route runs over gravel and forest paths that are not suitable for road bikes. This restriction applies to the aforementioned section of the route. For visiting the Kobilji curek gorge, travelling on foot or by bicycle is recommended. Those travelling to the gorge by car can park in front of the Dom krajanov in Rob (Rob 5). For route planning, the recommended access to the gorge, the described surface of the cycling route and the option of parking in front of the Dom krajanov are therefore presented alongside one another.
The included services, individual price components, and booking and cancellation conditions should likewise be clearly identifiable. These points may vary depending on the offer. The specific information provided for the respective offer remains decisive. Also make sure to check which type of accommodation is listed, how many people it is intended for and which services are included in the price. This keeps the decision focused on the features of the individual offer, without generally attributing the characteristics of one accommodation to Rob. The individual pages provide the basis for checking and comparing these details. When comparing several offers, it is worth checking the exact place name, the listed type of accommodation and the permitted occupancy. Also check which services are actually included, whether price components are listed separately and which deadlines apply to booking or cancellation. The spelling of the place name and the allocation of the respective page may also differ; the specific listing is therefore always decisive.
