Veľké Orvište: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Veľké Orvište lies at the transition between the northern foothills of the Danube Lowland and the northern part of the Trnava Hills. The Dubová stream flows through the area; the Orvištský Canal, an artificially constructed canal, is also located there.

History and Sacred Monuments
Veľké Orvište is first mentioned in the Zobor Charter of 1113 under the name villa Rivvis. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1743. The single-nave church was extended and enlarged in 1940 by an addition with a square floor plan. It stands at the junction of the roads to Ostrov and Bašovce, by the Barina stream in the local cemetery grounds.
A Pietà monument stands on the road to Bašovce; the monument from 1942 was restored in 2009. The monument to the Holy Family stands on the road towards Ostrov, which is also called Malé Orvište, and bears the year 1913. The monument to the Most Holy Trinity stands on the former road to Piešťany and is dated 1941.
Archaeology and Townscape
Settlement traces from the older phase of the Neolithic period were discovered at the Niže cesty site. They are attributed to the Lengyel culture and dated to approximately 3500 BC. At the Topoľové site, poorly defined pottery fragments were discovered, broadly dated to the Late Neolithic or Eneolithic period.
The cemetery cross from 1926 originally stood in the Dlhé stavanie field outside the built-up area. The historic seal of Veľké Orvište bears the year 1784 and depicts a dove with a branch in its beak.
Sport, Water and Competitions
The 36 × 18 m multi-purpose sports field with an artificial surface was built in 2009. In 2018, its surface was changed to artificial turf; the area was used as a football training pitch. In addition to its members, the Záhumnie Angling Club also offers sport fishing to the general public.
The 14th edition of the carp fishing competition Orvištský šupináč was scheduled for 25 April 2026 at the Záhumnie pond in Veľké Orvište. The 14th edition of the trout competition Jarný pstruh in spinning fishing took place at the Záhumnie pond in 2024. Orviťský blyskáč is a trout competition in spinning fishing; its 13th edition was held in 2023. Mikulášsky blyskáč is a trout competition in spinning fishing for mixed-gender pairs.
Community and Local Traditions
The BOVO Olympics includes a goulash-cooking competition; nine teams took part in one edition. The new, maintenance-free children's playground behind the cultural centre provides a safe play environment and supports children's physical activity and social skills, as well as community gatherings.
The Evangelical bell tower was built in 1934 from stones taken from a demolished old Evangelical church that had been brought from Vrbové. It has a 50 kg bell made by R. Manoušek of Brno; its ceremonial consecration took place on 15 August 1933.
As part of the Orvištské hody celebrations, a solemn Mass was held on Sunday. At the celebration of Saint Hubert, a gathering and refreshments followed a Mass.
