History

The settlement of Tatranská Kotlina began developing in 1882, after Belianska jaskyňa had been discovered in 1881. The history of the settlement is therefore directly connected in time with the discovery of the cave.

Hiking

Chata Plesnivec is the only mountain hut in the Belianske Tatras. From the Čarda bus stop in Tatranska Kotlina, the green-marked trail leads to Chata Plesnivec in approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. On the ground floor of Chata Plesnivec, the kitchen and dining room offer hot and cold food, drinks and souvenirs. The route to the hut is further identified by its starting point, trail marking and approximate duration; the ground-floor offering includes food, drinks and souvenirs.

Culture

The forestry nature trail is located on Cesta slobody between Tatranská Kotlina and Tatranská Lomnica, near a bus stop. It covers the history of the local forests and technical monuments related to forestry. Cycling route 5897 is 6.8 km long and has an elevation difference of 546 m. For mountain biking, it is rated “Expert – difficult”. The route runs along forest roads, gravel and partly rocky terrain. It starts at the Čarda bus stop in Tatranska Kotlina and initially passes by the Fľak nature trail. On the way

A year-round shuttle service operates in both directions. It brings passengers closer to hiking trails, sights and connections to public transport.
