Holiday apartment in Bartošovce: Culture, History and Folklore

A prominent cultural heritage site in Bartošovce is the Kostol Narodenia Panny Márie. The church was built between 1610 and 1612 using a Gothic presbytery dating from the early 15th century. Thus, two clearly distinguishable periods meet in one building: the construction phase at the beginning of the 17th century and the older Gothic section. The Kostol Narodenia Panny Márie is also a national cultural monument. The dates illustrate the chronological gap between the presbytery and the construction of the church; the building therefore preserves an older section within a later construction phase.

The furnishings of the church include a single-manual organ with pedal I / P / 10 (8+2). This instrument represents a distinct facet of the church interior alongside its architectural history and monument status. Culture

The cultural life of Bartošovce includes the Slávnosti Bartošovskej kotliny. The folklore festival takes place every year on the penultimate weekend of August in the open-air amphitheatre of the municipality of Bartošovce. The specified period and named venue give the event a clear framework. The festival features music, singing and dancing, as well as folk customs and traditions. The August date and fixed venue link the annual event to a clearly defined temporal and spatial setting.

Bartošovce is also home to the local folklore ensemble Bartošovčan. History

The earliest direct record of Bartošovce dates from 1408. This year marks the earliest directly documented trace of the settlement. In the 15th and 16th centuries, Bartošovce is described as the largest and most important village in the domain known as the Bartošovské panstvo. The history of the settlement therefore encompasses both an early direct record and an explicitly stated position within a domain. The record from 1408 predates the later-described prominent position in the 15th and 16th centuries.

Bartošovce lies in the Bartošovská kotlina basin at approximately 355 m above sea level. The elevation should be understood as an approximate indication.
