Beladice: Holiday apartment between manor house and nature
Beladice combines a freely accessible art collection with manor houses, parks and a landscape on the Žitava Table. The Gallery of Artistic Ceramics is freely accessible to tourists and the general public. In Beladice-Pustý Chotár, it is a permanent outdoor exhibition: its works are distributed throughout the park and the rooms of the manor house. The Gallery of Artistic Ceramics opened in August 2007.
Culture
Beladice is home to a Baroque manor house from the late 18th century that belonged to the Szentiványi family. The Sentiványi Manor includes a family mausoleum and a crypt dating from 1874. Another precisely dated building stands in Pustý Chotár: the Neoclassical manor house was built in 1808 by royal councillor Karol Jesenský. In 1874, the Sentiványi Manor was extensively rebuilt according to plans by V. Balogh in the Romantic Neo-Baroque-Classical style. Coffered ceilings and wooden wall panelling have been preserved on the ground floor.
The wider surrounding area also contains buildings with clearly documented historical features. The Church of St John Nepomuk in Veľké Chrašťany was built between 1795 and 1804. It contains a stone Rococo baptismal font with sculptural rocaille decoration dating from the mid-18th century. The described church building also retains an original 18th-century organ case. Another cultural site in the vicinity of Beladice is Zřícenina Gýmeš, a ruin. Zámok Svätý Ján, a castle, is also located in the surrounding area. Zřícenina ruinice is another ruin in the vicinity of Beladice.
Nature
Beladice lies in the Danubian Lowland on the Žitava Table. The Drevenica stream flows through the village; it rises below the Tribeč Mountains and flows into the Žitava River. Pustý Chotár Park is home to a red-leaved copper beech Fagus sylvatica 'Atropunicea'. Its tree population also includes native deciduous trees such as maple, ash and lime.
The landscape around Beladice includes several elevations classified as mountains. Málok is located in the vicinity of Beladice, as are Plieška, Žibrica and Kržа. Hrušov is a ruin in the wider regional surroundings of Beladice. Thus, different landscape and cultural sites stand alongside one another in the regional setting, without referring to the same geographical area.
