Hiking and nature

The Lomná–Krušetnica–Hruštín educational trail is 42 km long and connects Hruštín, Lomná and Krušetnica. The section of this trail in Hruštín is 16.2 km long. In the nearby area, an educational trail also leads from Koliba u Kuba to the summit of Vasiľovská hoľa. It covers just over 200 metres of elevation gain while also providing information about the local fauna, flora and the area's biotopes.

Culture

The village landscape is dominated by the masonry Church of St John the Baptist, built in 1820. The spacious, single-nave building is designed in the Neoclassical style and has a partially projecting tower with an onion dome.

The Chapel of St Anne was built in 1800 in the Neoclassical style and has been preserved in its original form. On the road to Črchle, it has four columns as well as stone sculptures of St Anne and the Apostles Peter and Paul. Another example of small religious monuments is the stone cross of St John the Baptist on the road to Babín, beyond the bridge. It was erected in 1833 and bears a relief of St John the Baptist.

Cycling and mountain events

The route of the “Cyklotúra piatimi hoľami” led over Hruštínska hoľa, Bzinská hoľa, Vasiľovská hoľa, Kubínska hoľa and Lihoťanská hoľa. The event reached its 15th edition. The third edition of the “Rodinná bicygľovačka” had a different character: it offered parents with children and recreational cyclists a shorter, less demanding route.

The winter ski tour “Prechod piatimi hoľami” is also associated with Hruštín. Its 46th edition took place there on 14 February 2026. In the 2026 edition, the prepared route led over Hruštínska hoľa and Bzinská hoľa to the summit of Vasiľovská hoľa.

Winter sports in the surrounding area

The family ski resort SKI ZÁBAVA Hruštín is located 7 km from Hruštín, on the northern side of the Oravská Magura, at an altitude of 900 to 1,150 m. The nearby ski resort has five easy to intermediate ski runs with a total length of 4.8 km, as well as three drag lifts. The facilities also include equipment rental and servicing, a children's ski school and a ski instructor.
