Rajec combines prominent sites in the town centre with traditional crafts, monuments and trails into the surrounding area. The Veronika Thermal Bath is located in Rajec. Two signposted or thematically guided routes also begin in Rajec. The 26-kilometre, moderately difficult Okolo Rajeckých Teplíc a Rajca cycle circuit passes through Rajec and across SNP Square. The Okolím Rajeckého hradu nature trail begins in the centre of Rajec. Along the nature trail, information panels provide information about the local flora, fauna and history.

This provides different forms of routes for exploration: the cycle circuit is described as a 26-kilometre, moderately difficult circular route, while the nature trail begins in the centre and presents its topics along the route using information panels.

Landscape and Wider Surroundings

The mountains of Žibrid and Srnák are located in the vicinity of Rajec. The mountains of Úzký Vrch and Kopaná are also located in the surrounding area. This geographical classification distinguishes between the immediate vicinity of Rajec and the more broadly defined surrounding area.
