Holiday apartment in Lovinobaňa – church and mining history
The Protestant church of Lovinobaňa was built in 1863 in the late Classicist style on the site of an originally Gothic church. Its altar features a painting of Christ on the Sea from 1860 by Peter Michal Bohúň. The church also still houses an organ made in Budapest in 1907 by the Rieger company. Thus, the building brings together the period in which the church was built, 19th-century furnishings and a surviving part of the local church history. The dates place the construction, altar painting and organ as different historical layers of the same church interior.
