Nemce: Holiday Apartment, Hrádok and Early History
Culture and History
Nemce lies in the valley of the Nemčiansky potok and has a history spanning several periods. Hrádok in Nemce dates from the transitional period between the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. At the end of the 13th century, Nemce was founded by miners from Banská Bystrica.
Ceramic fragments from the Late Bronze Age were found on the Hrádok plateau. Ceramics attributed to the Púchov culture were also found there. The Hrádok plateau thus represents an archaeological site whose finds have been classified both chronologically and culturally.
A bronze axe was found in the Netopierska Cave, dated to the Late Bronze Age, specifically the Reinecke phase HA 2. Netopierska Cave is not open to the public. Archaeological finds from Kaplnka Cave date to the first half of the 5th century AD.
The Church of St Bystrík was created through the conversion of an existing building following extensive renovation. It is the first church in Slovakia dedicated to St Bystrík and was consecrated on 15 September 2006. The interior can accommodate approximately 100 people.

Forests have been preserved in the northern, hilly part of Nemce, while pastures and meadows dominate the southeastern part. A road from Nemce provides access to the Šachtičky recreational area below Panský diel.
