Noyabrsk showcases city history, culture and a variety of park and landscape scenes. In Noyabrsk Park, peaceful areas for enjoying nature alternate with unusual art objects and colourful grounds. In winter, the Alley Boulevard offers views of the winter landscape, while birches and pines grow along the Nankpyokh River. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can consider whether parks and culture, winter city views or the riverside landscape will be the defining feature of your trip. Then choose accommodation to suit your own plans.

Art, Paths and Culture in Noyabrsk Park

The park includes peaceful areas for enjoying nature, unusual art objects and colourful spaces for a range of uses. It also has footpaths and stairs to the viewing platform, designed to meet the needs of people with reduced mobility, as well as designated cycle paths. If these park facilities are essential to your visit, check their current condition in advance.

The “Num” complex is located on the upper level of the park. All the objects there are connected with the culture of the Indigenous peoples of the North. The nature and ethnography complex includes a walking park, a children’s playground, a viewing platform, themed photo areas and art objects. The park thus brings together natural areas and a variety of cultural designs.

Museums and City History

The Museum Resource Center in Noyabrsk includes the Museum of Fine Arts, the Children’s Museum, the Museum of City History, the V. M. Grigor Museum of Military Glory and the City Crafts Center. The center offers exhibitions, city tours, museum events for visitors, lectures and games. It also runs workshops, including pottery, bone carving and glass fusing. The range spans everything from city history and art to hands-on crafts.

The “Yamal” monument was unveiled on 13 September 2012. It stands just over eight metres tall, is made of bronze and is considered a symbol of the history and culture of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The pedestrian fountain opened in 2016. It is located next to the “Yamal” Cultural and Sports Complex, on the grounds of the square of the same name, and is designed so visitors can walk between its jets of water.

“Progulki po Noyabrsku” is a photographic chronicle of the city; a set was published in 2020. The monument, fountain and photographs offer different perspectives, moving from an explicitly regional symbol to an urban design feature and images of Noyabrsk.

Winter Walks and Riverside Scenery

The Alley Boulevard is a popular walking route among residents and is also known locally as “Noyabrsk’s Arbat.” In winter, a walk there offers views of the winter landscape. Birches and pines line the banks of the Nankpyokh. Noyabrsk residents often spend time outdoors there, picking mushrooms and fishing. The scenes are distinct: winter views along the boulevard contrast with the tree-lined riverbank and the leisure activities described there.

The nature and ethnography complex in Gornoknyazevsk was established in 2001. Its purpose is to preserve and promote the spiritual and material cultures of the Indigenous small-numbered peoples of northern Yamal.

The “Chumovye posidelki” programme at the ethnopark in Gornoknyazevsk includes a tour about the lives and everyday customs of the Indigenous peoples of the North, as well as explanations of how a chum is built and transported. The programme also includes traditional purification rituals involving smoke and offerings to local spirits, including tying a ribbon to a sacred birch. It also features workshops on making traditional toys and jewellery, as well as stories about Khanty folk tales. Advance booking is required for organised groups.
