Tashbulatovo: Park, Lake Karabalykty and Urta-Tube
Accommodation in Tashbulatovo
Tashbulatovo combines a park in the town centre with a nature and history theme in the surrounding area: Lake Karabalykty. On its shores, very shallow water access, a stony lakebed and small forests meet archaeological traces dating back to the Paleolithic. This brings play and sport in the town centre together with the landscape, geology and finds from the area around the lake. These different highlights can help you match your travel interests with your choice of a holiday apartment in Tashbulatovo.
Karabalykty Park in the town centre
Karabalykty Park is in the centre of Tashbulatovo. A description from 2024 mentions a children's playground with a safe surface, as well as play and sports equipment. This combination offers a distinct option for families who want to include play and activity in their travel plans. The town park and the lake surroundings offer different themes: play and sports equipment here, lakeside scenery, geology and archaeological history there.
Lake Karabalykty: shores, forests and geology
Lake Karabalykty is near Tashbulatovo. On the north shore, access to the water is very shallow: you have to wade in at least ten metres to reach deeper water. The lakebed near the shore is stony; jasper and agate can be found among the stones. The Ural “Jasper Belt” runs through this area, making the lake a geological point of interest on your trip.
A walk around Lake Karabalykty takes you past several small forests. You can also look across a low isthmus towards Lake Sabakty. These two impressions complement the features of the shore: the walk connects patches of woodland with a view of another lake, while the shallow access and stony lakebed stand out on the north shore. Lake Karabalykty attracts people who enjoy fishing and spending undisturbed time in nature. If you plan to fish, check the local fishing regulations before your visit.
Urta-Tube and the archaeological finds
In 1961, archaeologist G. Matyushin discovered the Paleolithic site of Urta-Tube on the left bank of Lake Karabalykty. Over the years, 45,000 objects were found there, including tools and pottery fragments. Other finds include the remains of a semi-subterranean house with hearths and a Copper Age burial. These finds can be seen at the Archaeological Museum in Ufa. The site adds a historical dimension to the area around the lake: alongside the shore, forests and rocks, the focus here is on a long history of human settlement.
Which location suits your interests?
The park is in the centre of Tashbulatovo; Lake Karabalykty and the Urta-Tube site are in the surrounding area. When looking for a holiday apartment in Tashbulatovo, you can use this distinction as a guide: is being close to the town centre important to you, or are you particularly interested in the landscape and history of the area around the lake? Choose the specific location of your accommodation to match that preference.

The geopark also preserves the ruins of ancient settlements and fortresses and showcases local cultural heritage, cuisine and crafts.
Bashkiriya National Park was established in 1986 to protect the natural resources of the Southern Urals; it was the first and only national park in Bashkortostan. These examples are part of the wider regional context of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
