Balotești combines active leisure, warm-water areas, historic sites, and a landscape shaped by bodies of water, reed beds, and valley vegetation. The individual destinations each have their own focus, ranging from movement among the treetops and on the riding arena to thermal water, sandy areas, a religious building, and remembrance.

Activities

At Edenland Park on Strada Cantonului No. 12 in Balotești, Ilfov, there are 16 treetop courses with varying levels of difficulty for children and adults. The facility thus combines different types of courses within a single leisure offering. Eden Ranch has a 4,200-square-metre outdoor riding arena. When planning an active day, the two destinations are clearly distinct: at Edenland Park, the activities take you into the treetops, while Eden Ranch is centred around a spacious riding area.

Water and Leisure

Therme București is located on national road DN1 in Balotești, just outside Bucharest. The Palm Main Pool features thermal water heated to 33 °C and includes a pool bar, a whirlpool, and hydromassage beds. Sands of Therme Beach covers 30,000 square metres of fine sand. Sands of Therme Beach includes a tropical pool, a beach club, and a burger station. Water temperature, area, and facilities distinguish the two areas from each other.

Pangea Park forms a 3,800-square-metre green puzzle inspired by the formation of the Earth. Its design combines the puzzle shape with a theme from Earth’s history. For facilities with fixed themes or amenities, it is advisable to check the current opening hours before travelling.

Culture and History

The parish church of Balotești was built in 1763 by Zamfirache and Elena in honour of Saints Nicholas, Theodore Tiron, and Stelian. The Balotești monument was erected after the 1989 Revolution and commemorates the local heroes of 1916–1919, 1941–1945, and December 1989.

The monument consists of two red-granite prismatic bodies and bears a granite cross. The parish church and the monument represent different historical functions: the church is a religious building, while the monument is a place of remembrance. Landscape

The commune of Balotești lies in the southern part of the Vlăsia Plain, also known as the Bucharest Plain. Within the commune, bodies of water and reed beds cover 184 hectares and have contributed to the development of angling tourism. In undeveloped sections of the Vlăsia Valley, pronounced moisture-loving vegetation is present.
