Culture and History

The Unitarian Church of Suatu was built in the 15th century and is considered one of the region's most valuable historical monuments.

The first documented mention of the village of Suatu dates from 1213; in this mention, it appears under the name VILLA ZUAT.

The old Unitarian Church stands on the site of the former village of Suatu de Sus. It was originally built as a Roman Catholic church in the 13th century in the Gothic style. Its southern portal dates from the 15th century.

The Unitarian Church of Suatu contains three variants of the wolf coat of arms of the noble Suki family. One variant is mounted on the church building above the southern main entrance, while two others are located inside.

The Reformed Calvinist Church is located on the site of the former village of Suatu de Jos. It was built in 1682.
