Nature

Along the Someșul Mic, Jucu de Sus lies on a terrace that is 25 to 30 meters high.

In the area where the Valea Sărății meets small tributaries, there are salt springs near Jucu de Sus. This area also includes a wide field with salt efflorescences.

Near Jucu de Sus, a salt massif cuts through marl and clay layers. These layers contain tuff intercalations from the Upper Tortonian.

The Laguna pond was established in Jucu de Sus as a designated place for fishing and recreation. This means that different landscape elements exist side by side here: the river course with its elevated terrace, the saline geological formations, and a specially created pond.

The geological formations are associated with different landscape areas: the terrace follows the Someșul Mic, while the springs, salt efflorescences, and salt massif form distinct features in the Jucu de Sus area.
