Brăzești: Wild Waterfall and Mountains in the Surrounding Area

Brăzești reveals its distinctive natural character at Cascada Brăzești, a little-known, wild waterfall on Valea lui Dănilă. The water falls in the middle of the forest, about 200 metres from the national road. The stream, the forest setting and the waterfall are closely connected here, making Cascada a striking destination for a stay amid mountains and wooded valleys.

Nature

Several named mountains lie in the surroundings of Brăzești. Muntele Mare, Măgura, Dosul Neagului and Geamăna are mountains in the area around the village. The Scărița-Belioara Nature Reserve is larger in scale. It includes the Sesul Craiului limestone plateau, the 1,382-metre-high Vârful Scărița and spectacular steep slopes at the headwaters of the Valea Belioara valley. The protected area covers 450 hectares and is home to numerous rare plant species. The plateau, summit, steep slopes and plant life give this natural area a distinctly different structure from the forest at Cascada Brăzești.

Another natural attraction is Huda lui Papară Cave. It is located about 15 kilometres from Camping Brăzești. The approximate distance refers to this campsite and not generally to every starting point in Brăzești. Culture and Local Cuisine

The churches in the surroundings of Brăzești include Biserica Gârde. In the wider regional area, there are also Biserica Bistra and Biserica Dealul Capsei Câmpeni. Both are churches. Getting There and Railways

Narrow-gauge railway No. 112 between Turda and Abrud runs through Brăzești. The railway is currently out of service. Its route through Brăzești and its current operating status are two separate characteristics: the line is part of the local transport history, but travelling by this railway is currently not possible. Camping Brăzești is directly accessible via national road DN75 (Turda–Câmpeni). DN75 and the narrow-gauge railway represent different transport connections: the road leads to the campsite, while the railway line runs through Brăzești and is currently out of service.
